It's been long since my last entry to www.petuniablogg.blogspot.com Foto Safari! But finally, here's my 11th pic: a frontdoor with rainbow in hip Hamburg-Altona. Hope you will enjoy it!?
This is a yarn, a unique skein, I just purchased. Now I wait for it's arrival. I am quite mad about patterns like this....
... so I need more yarn that has changing colours. The effects are gorgeous!!! So I keep on knitting while weather is just horrible: wet snow is falling heavy and it is cool and windy. Fortunately the snow melts off..... see the weather in Berlin today! Unter den Linden in sunshine and some folks are out already to sell their (old) books along the way (see the very right corner of the snap)! Wish I could be there now! So many nice, sometimes antique, books are for sale there. And the entire surrounding has a special athmosphere.....
It just starts to snow again, large flakes that will probably not remain on the ground, but who knows....it is cold and I woke up with finding a layer of frost on the roof! Winter will definitely not move away from us yet!
Yesterday was a bad-weather-Sunday: storm, rain.... and today it's going to continue like this and it's even worser. We will have snow again, so it is announced. The wind is icy still, so I made this mitts out of Zitron Trekking Sockyarn. It has beautiful changes of colours, so it is very effective and quite a pity to be used for socks - and in shoes - only! Mitts look a little complicated, but they are not; one mitt was ready in 2 hours (with dinner inbetween) ♥
Made of 100% Alpaka and the graygreen edge is a rest of Noro Silk Garden!
Earlier today I saw another team arriving Nome. The webcam only updates every minute, so mostly the entire dogteam is not visible and disappears in the waiting crowd of people. This was the only team that was halfway to see. Think it is Matt Hayashida or Ray Redington coming in. Oh, how I wish I could be there live.... yesterday I saw Dee Dee Jonrowe's arrival! Nice weekend to all of you out in Bloglandia! We have beautiful sun here, but it was frosty last night and this morning...
Yesterday famous Iditarod dograce between Anchorage and Nome, Alaska, ended with Lance Mackey winning for the third time. Last year I was really fortunate and I saw him come into Nome on the webcam, even though it updates only every minute. This year the lines broke down just before his arrival and what you can see here is the first pic the webcam showed again; quite a few minutes after arrival of the team. But it is still visible how people greet Lance and his dogs whilst he disappears in the crowd....
Many mushers are still to come in under the burled arch, so I will watch further!!!
It is almost 2 years ago now that I helped my dear Olly to go over the Rainbow Bridge after nearly 20 years of faith, love and togetherness! Still miss her, but I am glad that it took her only about 1 minute to cross the bridge after being very sick in her high age. She rests in the forest now ... YYYY
Today was surfing day! Quite bad weather outside, so it was just right to stroll around in the web. I found these two cuties at cuteoverload.com and had to adopt them. Aren't they just sweet? Also I found my invitation from Ravelry this morning! I rediscovered old friends and saw many intresting items. You can indeed spend many hours on it....but a good Sunday job when weather is not allowing to be outside...! I am happy I joined! You can find me as nype!
