Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

Toadstool Boxes ~.*.~

It has been quite silent here recently; I was not really in the best mood for blogging....but today I have been creative and finally finished my Toadstool Boxes! I am quite satisfied. The biggest box has a painted golden dragonfly on top and I think this is specially neat.
There are more colours of the Faroer Wool out in my blog www.northatlantic-wool.blogspot.com, so if you are intrested, don't miss it! Enjoy!

My New Wool Blog!!!

Today I created a new Blog: www.northatlantic-wool.blogspot.com! You are all welcome to visit, although this is a blog for my German speaking friends.
Only recently I got my first issue of natural wool from the Faroer Islands in the Northatlantic regions. Far means sheep! So they are actually the Sheepislands! The sheep there live quite a natural, free life and are still very much like the ones known in the Viking Times about 1000 years ago. The wool is smashing, absolutely beautiful and is coming in 71 lovely colours. This is a very natural yarn and has about 560 meters in 100 gr what is incredibly much!!! Enjoy!

...more Dots!

I am in quite a mushroom fever finally, too! All red, white-spotted items are very popular here; now in Fall and throughout the year. This morning I found the cute Toadstool and had to buy it! It looks very real and gives a perfect deco. Maybe I will get me another one....enjoy!

What did you do 8 years ago?

NYC is fantastic in September!!!
Today 8 years ago I was not there, but in Hamburg driving to several smaller cities in the suburbs doing my field job selling beautiful cards and related stuff. I was at one of my fave customers, had loads to do and was exhausted and not very motivated to go straight on, so I drove home for dinner. At home I turned the radio on. News were thru, but no music, just people talking about that a plane had hit WTC. I thought: no wonder, so much action in the sky over the city...this must happen some day. So I turned back to preparing dinner. Suddenly the girl on the radio started screaming, really shrill and terrified: the other tower was hit by another plane! Then I turned on the TV and remained in front of it for many hours to come. You all know what happened further...!
All general programs were deleted and it was somehow surreal. It was like a film, but it was real.... the newsmen and women did a great job. They were on air without a break, untill they had to resign totally exhausted and somebody else had to take over. I admire them for the great job they made!
Accidently I took part somehow live...what did you do on this bright September Day?!

Mrs. Flintstone ...

Today has been a good day: I visited a friend, we had coffee and talked about this and that, weather was most perfect and the dogs could play. She has just been on vacation in Denmark and her son found all this flintstones! Denmark as well as the German Baltic and North Sea coasts are famous for special flintstones....I love to collect them, too! Some contain fossils!
Lovely flowers in her garden

More flintstones!

Plong, Plong ... and Denmark again!

Before it gets too cold people empty out their homes and arrange garage sales. There were quite a few in my direct neighbourhood this weekend and I was lucky enough to find another plate, unfortunately not Royal Copenhagen, but a plate made for Denmark in cobalt blue, though made at Schumann Arzberg, Bavaria. It seems to be a special edition for the special people in the border region between Denmark and Germany. As I am also living in a Vikings area (yes, northern Germany had many Viking settlements), this runic plate suits me good. I am very intrested in these times! This plate is a Christmas (Julen) edition from 1974, so it's quite retro, too....
Otherwise Fall is well on its way! Plong, plong....chestnuts and acorns on your head...constantly. Soon the kids will come to collect the chestnuts that fall from the 3 large trees by my frontdoor....nice new week to you!

The First and Last House!

Think I should show this to you! This is the First or Last House (just as you please and which way you come from) in Denmark! The border is about 20 meters behind this house! It is crazy, now that the border is officially gone in some ways (no control, no buildings, no customs etc.) only flags and signs show you that you are going from one country into a next and in this case even enter a different world somehow, as Scandinavia begins at this point, too!!! ♥.♥.♥.♥.♥
The houses and athmosphere on the German side is very different....
We are having our first Fallstorm here, so my anoraq came in use today and I like it! Good Bye hot Summerweather...

❀ Beautiful Denmark ❀

Love this city: pretty small houses in Sönderborg!
Nordborg Castle

How often did I sail this passage? Many hundred times....when I was a kid and teenager I spent approximately a quarter of my time in Denmark, mostly sailing....during the summer it was often a trip to Sönderborg, sometimes every weekend. I always loved this neat city, although not far from the border to Germany, typical Danish. Wish I could have stayed longer....
