Mid of August and Heather is in full bloom here; isn't it lovely!? ✿✿ We have a large ancient site here with Bronce Age Barrows (see photo above). The Birches are held small, so the Heather can expand. This year is rich in colours and fruits: in all the years I lived here in the country area I have not seen so many and so huge sloe (blackthorne). Infortunately, as far as I know, they can be used only for making liqueur...I once had a friend who made fabulous liqueur out of them. But sloe needs quite strong frost before they are tasty and can be harvested; alternative they can be in the deepfreezer for some time, but this is not the same as natural frost....✿✿

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I really enjoy your posts, and have been by before, just haven't commented. Enjoy the colors - both of the heather, and the buttons! I love both.
Have a good day.
