50 years ago my hometown

was hit by a severe storm

and flood!

About 350 people were killed!

As well as hundreds of animals.

I remember it, although I was

quite small.

My dad was a life guard with DLRG

and he was out in the most hit 

places for days.

He went away as a young man

and came home with a gray

shadow on his face...
