Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

~ ♥ ~ A Glimpse of Spring ~ ♥ ~

Wishing you all a very nice weekend!!

See what was in my POB: this lovely crocheted button of Springflowers made by a Turkish Lady, living in Southern Germany, who is very skilled. Isn't it cute? It sure gives a first glimpse of Spring in this awful dark and stormy weather we have back now. Kamuran, thanx so much for your nice work...... ~ ~
On my own knittng front it is only small pieces. As usual. Have made a shrill summergreen pair of wristwarmers, but this time they didn't felt as I wanted them to be. Maybe I will sew another garland of roses on them..... ~ ~

•~♥~• My Pets •~♥~•

Great weather today, but no friends to play with around, so Gizmo found himself a part of a tree.... while Hexe enjoys just a little game on her raised hide, she rather rests in the sun, I suppose....enjoy and all have a nice day! ~~

Are you tagged? And Obamania!

As I am quite related to the US (and Canada) I surely followed the finding of a new President and I am most pleased with the outcome! Here in Germany, and I guess all of Europe, there is a big hype, a real Obamania already since long, at the latest since his speach in Berlin!
The guy will do it, he is clever and young and fit and he represents the entire world in one person. I suppose this makes his charisma! He is not white nor is he black, he knows living in southeastern Asia and on Pacific Islands. He also has family near Stuttgart, Germany, and believe me, he looks German somehow....and what a lovely First Lady this country has now! This is all new, fresh and clever....Good Luck for the Years to come!!!
Yesterday I have been tagged! And here we go! The rules are quite simple: go thru your files and select from your 6th file the 6th photo (a little develish, eh?) and show it in your blog. The meaning is probably to see thru old files and rediscover old pix again; this can make you find treasures again you had already forgotten about....ha! You can choose from these two badges, just click on them and copy one (or both if you like)! Nominate 6 further friends from Bloglandia then.....and so it goes on and on....!!! Enjoy!
I nominate today: Tante Grön, KnitTina, Harpa, Cloudberry, Dorthe Esbjerg and Bella. Y

TAGGED!!! ... and a new Hat!

Another hat is done! I like this pillbox style, can be worn slopy as well...it has so nice colours that you will get another pic for a closer look. Material is NORO Silk Garden and the top is pure Alpaka from Horstia, in the most beautiful green you can think of... YYYY
From lovely Shelley of Iqaluit, Nunavut, Canada, I got tagged! This is fun, to go thru years old files again....here is my pic from the 6th file, the 6th pic...a photo I really love to share with you all. It was made some time ago in happy days, still in Norway. It was made in the wonderful scenery of the potholes or kettle basins, or whatever you want to call them, in Eikhom. This beautiful carved rocks were created by icy water and very fine sand between glacier and stone during the last Iced Age about 10.000 years ago. Back in the days this pic was shot, the kids and I were there almost alone as you can see. In the meantime it is always crowded in summer with hundreds of families trying to bath and relax in this sort of natural swimming and recreation area. Still, it is a very special area ... ll

I will choose 6 pals later to go on tagging!!! Enjoy!

...and I will be back stronger then ever! Here is some new wool for you girls outthere; lovely, eh?!! The simple is the best....enjoy!

ღ Woolmania and Depression ღ

Thanx to all who provided me with this Award - I treasure it and I am very thankful and glad that my blog gives inspiration to some outthere in Bloglandia. I also received the same one due my Norwegian Blog and I already passed it on; There are so many others who should get it, too, and I will not name them all here again. You all are perfect handcrafters and nice pals outthere and you help me a lot to get thru hard times; you definitely ALL need an Award and I herewith dedicate it to you....
Indeed times have been extremely difficulty for me recently and I still don't want to bother anyone with my problems, so I don't have many contacts out of the house right now. Sure I have to walk the dog and do shopping etc., but it is only a minimum from what I did before. It will come back some day soon, but right now I feel just as gray as this pic, although it is a nice sight! Still it is quite melancholic - and it resembles me somehow...

Still some colour needs to be added today!!! When I was out with the dog today it was all rainy, dark and gray, but as soon as we got back home weather turned out to be extraordinary; the announced storm has arrived....last week I was once in the wool factory outlet. I bought some yarn that will go out for sale again. I know that someone will just LOVE this colour!!!! :))) Fine quality indeed, so many things can be done even with shrill colours!
Following are some pix from the factory; it's just as in old days. See the kart full with undyed fresh spun yarn!

View of the yarn spinning factory, it is still in process, even though much reduced from former days....enjoy!

* Greenland Mitts *

I had still some wool left from this seagreen Shetland yarn (one of my fave colours), so another pair of cuffs were knitted and felted. This yarn can good use a 60°C in the machine. The beads that make the * snowflakes *** are slightly opalizing, so give a nice extra frosty effect. I just love those small cuffs which can be used as bracelets too. They are warm enough for me and comfortable are they....just perfect! It is just weather to work inside. Still very wet and foggy; you can't see a thing outside. It gives a little depressing effect, but here in the land between two oceans you always have to reckon with bad weather! +4°C makes you shiver and feel like -14°C ... I uploaded some fogpix to my Google Earth account though, as I think they give a special mood. You can look at www.panoramio.com/user/2618108. Enjoy!!

>> Fog and Drizzle <<

A gray day here today! It makes me feel dizzy; you can see a tiny movie from Gizzy and Benno when weather was still fantastic....enjoy!

~ Into Google Earth ~

This afternoon I came home and found my first pix accepted by Google Earth! Proud!
Had uploaded many and it takes about a week or more before they get checked and accepted. Maybe this tree nursery pic will come out in the future as well?...
Not much other things happend, so I am just wishing you a fantastic new week! YYY

* * Polaris * *

The snow is almost gone, but the frost remained! It is sunny and the people go skating on the lake - even though it is prohibited!
* * * * * * * * * * * *
Matching to winter weather I made a pair wristcuffs out of polarblue-seagreen Shetland wool, felted them and decorated with polar bear and sleddog!

★ Vintage Rose Hat ★

A new hat is done! I call it Vintage Rose Hat as it definitely has a little shabby look. It was made out of original Lopi from Iceland, the brown edge, and another Iceland yarn, the green. The green yarn though looks a bit like frottee after felting, while the brown Lopi is perfectly felted. The rose tendrils are crocheted out of very fine cotton thread. I am pleased with the result and wish you all a perfect weekend!

* * Winter Joy * *

Two days ago I met one of my herefound blog-friends! We took the chance to walk both our dogs in the sandpit. This way they had lots of space to play and also could meet some others of their kind. It was fun as they got along so well with each other! We all had a good time....thanx Andrea for the nice afternoon!!

Fantastic sunny winterweather remained, so I was out a lot today as well, walking the dog and myself round the lake. As usual we met many others. Made this little video to share the Joy of Life with you! Winter can be wonderful. Also many skaters were on the ice;I am not sure if it is already strong enough...
Enjoy!!

P E B B L E S

Some time ago I have been in Denmark, Westcoast, North Sea Coast! The enormous large beach is covered with millions of beautiful, mostly flat grinded pebbles. The strong waves roll them on and off the beach and the water; this is a perfect grinder. The stones feel like velvet and you can find all from quartz to porphyr - just great.
As I like them so much I built small sculptures with them - natures little pieces of art!!! Y

Enjoy!!! Hilsen til Danmark!!

♥.♥ Without You ♥.♥

Time flies by! It's now 1 and a half years since my dear Fritz went over the Rainbow Bridge in my arms. Although Gizmo gives lots of joy and love to my life, I still miss him so much! We have always been together, for nearly 12 years. He was the joy of life! We travelled many countries together and have been through many ups and downs. I am thankful for all the faith and love he shared - I will never forget you!

♥ Vintage Rose Mitts ♥

A new pair Vintage Rose Mitts is ready! Made of Lambswool again, bought at Horstia's outlet. The colour is more light yellow though; looks a little pale on this pic...love them! Felted them in the machine, so they are very soft, warm and cozy now. They look a little odd, but are very pretty on the arm. I love this very short wristwarmers! Personally I don't need a thumb hole as well, so these are just perfect.
It is cold here now! It snows, too, though not as much as in the more austral parts of Germany. There's masses of snow! We expect very low temps in the entire country the nights to come. So we have to wait and see what will happen to us weatherwise in the near future. Winter is here with his full might, that's definite!

2009 Began ♥

On New Year's Eve Gizmo and Lina became new close friends. After a good meal this was their way to relax! ♥.♥.♥.♥.♥.♥

Still a bit exhausted from all obstacles in 2008, I hope to obtain a better condition this year! Wish me luck....
With a trick I tried to persuade Hexe to use the cave on her new climbing tree as well! She is not really convinced yet, but it was not too bad inthere. The rest of the tree is well accepted though! Isn't she cute? ♥.♥.♥.♥.♥.♥
