Berlin Weather ...

While we enjoyed a lovely weather Pentecost Saturday, could visit exhibitions and such...

... weather about 360 km away in Berlin was like this! Think this Webcan pix are quite formidable. See the people in the right corner in the first pic, they have an open booth selling books; they really have to to hurry to get their items saved out of the storm. Wonder if we will get this storm too?.... enjoy this weekend!!!

~ Stormwarning ~

This afternoon we expect heavy thunderstorms! The first one rolled in over us already this morning around 8. It was not as bad as expected. We also have a tornado warning; there alraedy was one and damadged an entire village about 150 km east from here a few days ago. It has been very warm the past days, so no wonder..... time to finish the baby shorty when I am bound at home due to bad weather! It is almost done and it seems I will make it exactly with the amount wool I have... ♪♫ ✿ ☀

°° Colours °°

Soon I have to change my header with the Lilacs; they are fading and now Rhododendron are in full blossom. I just found those above; the only ones I have seen so far with curly petals! But nice, aren't they?!

My ordered wool just arrived! The colours are incredible and this pic just don't show the real brightness!

Many beautiful Rhododendron blooming along the lakeside these days. Some colours are really unusual and incredible; just have to show them off..... enjoy!

☀ Sunny Sunday ☀

Summer is coming up and I rather call my balcony a roof garden; it is a very huge balcony indeed, so much space for many flowers and other loveable things. Thursday I bought this iron stand at the exhibition. Like it! And it is useful: it holds one flower pot and I can hang a ball with birdfood. I always thought it is not recommended to feed birds during breeding season, but the mixture in these balls are special: for youngsters and it is a sort of summer food.
Further you can see that I hung up some of the dogs winterhair. Gizmo always looks slim, but in winter he developes quite a thick layer of undercoat: very soft, almost white and angoralike hair. The birds like to warm up their nests with it ☀ ♪♫✿ ☀

Next winter will come, so here is another pair of Greenland mitts. Horstia Lambswool felted in the machine! Love the colour and the snowstarflake ☀

❃ Shrimp ❃

As I live between two oceans I sure enjoy fish and shrimps and all that. No wonder this pretty little creature on Ravelry caught my eye - just had to show it off! I admire people that can crochet so well; a horror to me, but welldone whoever that was.... ❃

~ Aviary and Chirrups ~

The aviary by my frontdoor is full with young chickadees; they are chirping loud all day and actually the entire air is filled with their chirrups all around. This is the joy of Spring Y

Today is an off day and I felt quite fine. Ascension is exhibition and Father's Day, too.

I went to see the exhibition at the lake's promenade. Know some of the exhibitors and found some new intresting items, like these potterylike birdfeeder roofs.

Also some drunk fathers on the way with a barrel of beer in handcart and ghettoblaster...

Some florists and tree nurseries also showed off their exhibits...

... and some unique food stands as well - of course Y

❃ Stash ✿

I have been a naughty girl today and bought some more stash... ugh! But couldn't resist. Was in the wool mill today although I feel quite awful again since a few days...
still I started something off: this baby shorts! I saw those on Ravelry and although I actually don't have any real use for it, except selling it, I had the notion to start one as I think they are super cute! The yarn is from an unknown company, still it is high quality, 75% Bamboo. Love it, so soft and gentle and pretty colours ❃

Further I ordered this yarn. It is not here yet though. I bought it at www.wollpapst.de! Pretty yarns there, you should have a look. I ordered before and it was lovely, although the colours were slightly different then on the pic. Still very nice! So this was worth a reorder.

Just met this little guy humming around while walking the dog ❃

further I had to buy this shabbystyled wooden box. Some of my wristwarmers are decorated in it; it is a neat way to present them! To all of you: a happy new week!

It's been a long time since they last met: David and Gizmo! Now they are almost 2 years and on this pic they were only around 9 months. Wonder if they still would get along so well?!

Bourgeois? ☀

Last Sunday when I drove home from the North Sea I made a stop in Wesselburen, the little town of poet Hebbel! When I was still doing field work some years ago I passed by here once a month, sometimes once a week. And I always found this place to be quite corny! ☀

The only reason I stopped was because the postoffice made a beautiful stamp onto my mail, and I had quite a few pen pals then. It was still only letter post possible those days; no SMS, no emails.... so I used this service to send out pretty letters!

Otherwise this was all too bourgeois for me!

In the meantime there's no postoffice left; postal service is now reduced to a supermarket selfservice board, but the place itself has improved. Quite neat it is now! Or am I just getting older - and corny myself??! Ha! ❋

Elevated Hearts Cuffs ~ ♥ ~

Just ready! Embroidered the little green beads to the heartstips and now these narrow lambswool cuffs are ready. The hearts are of haevier Noro Yarn, so they are a bit elevated what is quite neat. They have been felted lightly in the machine at 40°C. Like them ~ ♥ ~

It's time for another Foto Safari post! These pretty Calla were about to be thrown into waste at the gracer's round the corner, so I'd better saved them.... they are so noble, but nobody seems to like black flowers... so they end up to be post ' 13!

I wanted to do many things, but finally ended up with a nervy breakdown and all plans had to be over board. Glad I have the dog who forces me out..... ☀ ❃❀❋♪♫✿ ☀

Jaunt to the North Sea ~~~

Contrary to the storm we had, the weekend was just lovely. It is time for me to get back on the road and leave all negative aspects behind, so it was a trip to the North Sea. Lovely sunshine on Mother's Day here and a long walk with the dog was on, later a cup of tea! What a day in St. Peter!!!

Fed up with mountains right now, this was the right sight for me: absolutely flat salt march and in the very background you can trace the North Sea.

Idyllic sights everywhere along the way....

and the colza fields start blooming, too. Pic was made out of the driving car.... the enormous yellow of colza is a typical sight uphere around this time of year!

~ Friday Evening Storm ~

Can you smell them? Weather did not spoil us the passed few days, so the lilacs slightly start to vanish....what a pity that it is only a few days each year with such a splendour...!

Friday evening when the 820 birthday of the port of Hamburg should start a sudden wild storm appeared for about an hour. The show went on, but the storm still caused some damadge. Tried to take a little video of it; not much to see though.... it was frightning so all of a sudden, even when we are used to storms...
