Mandagstema VAKKER!

Not every day I am in downtown Hamburg these days! I was born here and still love it, but wouldn't like to live here now. Nevertheless, it has a special athmosphere....used to live in this road; now I prefer the suburbs...

These old houses from around 1900 have many nice - vakker - details! These cat stencils, though, are quite new, but cute....aren't they!!!?

I dag Mandagstema's ord er VAKKER! Sa jeg vil vise noen bilder av hjemmebyen mitt: Hamburg. Fordi jeg tenker det er en vakker by! Her se du detaljer av bydelen, nesten til downtown, hvor jeg bli födt og har bodt. Na jeg elsker a bo pa landet, men enna veldig i nerheten til Hamburg...

L = Langfjell and Fave Blog!

Today I will participate in 2 competitions! First I do my first recommandation for Dany's Intresting Blog thing: I recommend www.huskymusher.blogspot.com. It's Kathrina's lovely blog about her dogs, her races and all....suppose you will love it!

Second is ABC Scandinavia! Today its L that counts. So I decided myself to apply Langfjellet, my fave mountain, to this. It is only about 800 m high, but has a lovely waveform and it was grinded real flat and round at the edges during the last Iced Age. There are several lakes on top, beautiful overview and a special athmosphere. Also cloudberries are to be found upthere...

I just had a look thru all the items I never used - quite some treasures I found! Some years ago I was real crazy about Mammoth Ivory and I got this brooch and bracelet. I was real crazy about all prehistoric subjects though! Although I love roses, too, I decided to have these two items out for sale. The carving is quite new, about 20 years old, but the Mammoth Ivory is, of course, much older - about at least 8000 years. If you are intrested, just give me a mail....it is special to own a piece of jewellery of earth's history...

Also I just love these pincushions I found on Etsy! They are so beautiful! I posted some others before and I had to show one once again....it is matching somehow with the new colours of the Faroer yarn.....

11 is actually my fave number, so today should have been a good day for me, but I am freezing all day. It was nice and sunny most of the day, but the icy wind made you shiver to the bone. All the snow is almost gone, what is a relief when walking or driving. Still winter is here and will not let go yet.....

Snöen er nesten borte, men det var faktisk iskald i dag, sa jeg vil snarrt ga til sengs i dag!

I dag jeg var ogsa i alle mine skattekister og faktisk resultaten bli at jeg vil gjerne selge noen skatter; som denne brosje og armband laget av russisk Mammut elfenben. En kostbar nydelig prehistorisk material. Jeg aldri har brukt den! Sa i fall du har intresse, bare spörre meg....ogsa da er noen nye färöiske ullfarger. Tenker den er veldig flott igjen....

A New Year - A New Project!

Stone feels like velvet - rounded by the sea - washed on and off the shore!

Icicles so shiny and strong - frost is in diminution - the ice is just dripping off and the New Year is still indolent.

I'm starting with the man in the mirror - I'm asking him to change his ways - And no message could have been any clearer - If you wanna make the world a better place.
