Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

~ Mystic Forest ~

One of my big interests is ancient history in the northern hemisphere! I always was aware that our local forests are special and mystic somehow. And I also knew that there are some tumuli around from about 1800 BC, but only recently a new sign was set up at the parking lot with legends to many more places then I knew. So the past weeks I wandered all possible passages and counted about 150 tumuli from that ancient time. Some are still in perfect condition, what is a big surprise as some of them are on moorish or sandy ground. Some are huge and some are very small but still visible; unbelieveable when you think that they are about 4000 years old and what they have been thru. Probably there are many more deeper in the woods...
have been to many similar places that are sometimes also public sites, but I have never seen so many in quite a small area. What a surprise ti live so very close to such an ancient area. These tumuli suvived so many years and some are about to vanish what is ashame - and I sometimes wonder who it was to built this and what was going on then; nobody knows definitely but at least we can get a little idea of what the people created such a long time ago...

Leif Gizmo of course enjoys it to stroll with me off the ways and into the forests; here we discovered several real enchanting though smaller tumuli...
